Each year, Christian Brothers Automotive franchise owners, Support Center team members, vendors and families come together for one unforgettable week centered around learning, fellowship and celebrating the people who make the brand so special. This year’s Annual Convention, held April 20–23 at the beautiful JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa, was no exception.
With the theme "Chasing Excellence," the 2026 convention reminded attendees that excellence at CBA is a daily commitment to growth, leadership, service and community.
The week began with a fiesta-themed Welcome Reception that brought franchisees, their families and Support Center staff together for an evening of food, music and connection. Complete with a live mariachi band, the event set the tone for a week filled with meaningful conversations, laughter and shared experiences.
One of the hallmarks of CBA’s culture is the strong sense of family that exists throughout the franchise system, and the opening night gathering reflected that spirit from the very beginning.
Leadership Development and Educational Sessions for Franchise Owners
Tuesday’s sessions focused on personal and professional growth, beginning with worship led by Jimmy McNeal. Attendees also heard a powerful testimony from Russ Miller, franchise owner of CBA Westfield, before keynote speaker Les McKeown shared insights on the business growth journey and what it takes to lead organizations through every stage of development.
Throughout the day, franchisees and team members participated in breakout sessions and TED Talk-style presentations covering a wide range of timely and impactful topics. From local marketing strategies and leveraging AI to discussions around digital vehicle inspections and pursuing excellence in leadership, the sessions provided valuable takeaways for attendees to bring back to their shops and apply within their communities.
Celebrating Outstanding Franchise Performance
Tuesday evening’s awards celebration recognized franchisees and teams for outstanding achievements in sales, guest service, shop growth and cleanliness.
The event also highlighted some of the franchise system’s highest honors. Matt Hunter of CBA Happy Valley and CBA Lake Pleasant received the prestigious Lighthouse Award. Russ and Debbie Miller were honored with the Founder’s Award, while Cal Pascanu of CBA Peoria-Thunderbird and CBA Surprise earned the title of Franchisee of the Year.
Following the awards ceremony, attendees gathered at an Afterglow Party, capping off a day of learning and celebration.
Inspiring Speakers and an Authentic Texas Experience
Wednesday continued with prayer and another inspiring franchisee story from Jason Miller of CBA Spring Hill. Keynote speaker Jon Acuff then challenged attendees to rethink the "mental soundtracks" that shape leadership, mindset, and success.
After an afternoon of relaxation and recreation, attendees headed to Pedrotti's Ranch for an unforgettable evening. Guests enjoyed a full rodeo experience complete with live animals, a mechanical bull, country western music, and a classic Texas barbecue feast.
Vendor Trade Show and Community Service
The convention concluded with the annual Vendor Trade Show, where more than 40 vendor partners showcased products, services and interactive experiences that help support franchise operations across the system.
Attendees also participated in the annual pack-a-thon benefiting Feed the Hunger, reinforcing Christian Brothers Automotive’s ongoing commitment to serving others and making a meaningful impact beyond the automotive industry.
Looking Ahead: Growing the Christian Brothers Automotive Franchise
The week wrapped up with closing remarks from President and CEO Donnie Carr, who reflected on the importance of excellence, partnership, and purpose throughout the organization.
As another successful convention closes, one thing remains clear: Christian Brothers Automotive continues to thrive because of the incredible people behind the brand. From franchise owners and vendor partners to Support Center staff and families, the 2026 Annual Convention was a celebration of what’s possible when a system comes together united by shared values and a commitment to excellence.
