Christian Brothers Moves Into New Corporate Headquarters In Katy, Texas

Houston-based auto repair franchise Christian Brothers Automotive continues its nationwide expansion with a new headquarters in Katy, Texas, representing a significant increase in square footage. The new headquarters is needed as the number of auto repair franchises opening across the country continues to grow.

Christian Brothers Automotive Cooperate Headquarters

The new building will be at 17725 Katy Freeway, Houston, on the southeast corner of I-10 and Barker Cypress. At 35,460 square feet spread over two floors, the headquarters can accommodate a minimum of 70 employees when it opens, with additional leasing space to allow for future growth. More than 50 team members work at the current Christian Brothers headquarters, which is in an Energy Corridor office park.

“We have been blessed to grow tremendously over the past several years, and we are running out of space at our current headquarters,” says Christian Brothers CEO and founder Mark Carr. “We want to provide a workplace fitting for our stellar team members who helped us to be named to Houston’s Top Workplaces list for the past two years. This new state-of-the-art building will allow us to continue to expand and serve our 100+ franchise partners across the country.”

Christian Brothers is a highly rated, faith-based auto repair franchise with a unique financial model. Christian Brothers assumes a majority of the risk by purchasing land and constructing “built-to-suit” buildings, where the franchisee owns and operates the business. Christian Brothers does not charge a franchisee based on the top-line revenues like virtually every other franchisor, but instead on a share of the profits, which is calculated after expenses. Franchisees also pay themselves a salary before they pay the franchisor a nickel.

Christian Brothers Automotive Store Front

Christian Brothers opened its first store in 1982 and began franchising in 1996. The company has never closed a franchise, earning it one of the best reputations in the franchise industry. Christian Brothers Automotive celebrated 30 years in business in 2012 and opened its 100th store. Now Christian Brothers has 150 locations in 21 states. The franchise serviced approximately 451,000 cars in 2014.

“They believe in treating others as you would want to be treated, and it shows in the way they deal with folks,” says Blair Jordan, who owns a Christian Brothers franchise in Houston. “Their ethical standards are high, and that’s really important to my wife and me — honesty and integrity not only in the way you treat your customers, but the way you treat your associates, your suppliers; treating the folks you work with on a regular basis just as well as you treat your customers.”

Total investment for a Christian Brothers franchise starts at $403,100, and the initial investment is $75,000. Because Christian Brothers purchases the land and pays for the building, it’s possible to get into the car repair industry with far less investment than other auto repair franchise options.
