Discover the Power of Servant Leadership with Christian Brothers Automotive

At Christian Brothers Automotive, we believe that the foundation of our success lies in our commitment to servant leadership. This approach fosters a supportive and growth-oriented environment that benefits both our Franchisees and their service teams. One shining example of this philosophy in action is Jason Shiba, a dedicated CBA Franchisee in North Dallas, who has built a thriving business by prioritizing the needs and development of his team.

Building Trust and Personal Connections

Servant leadership is a key pillar of Jason’s work as a CBA Franchise Owner. Beginning his journey with CBA in various roles within the shop, he truly understands the day-to-day challenges his employees face.

“Servant leadership is what I attribute most of my success to,” Jason explains. “I have worked all their jobs and have firsthand experience and knowledge to help them solve problems as it pertains to their workday so I can speak to them and connect with them on a very personal level. This develops trust very quickly and then they allow me into their personal lives where I can truly help them make a difference.”

Jason’s approach goes beyond just managing the business. He has created a work environment, through building trust and personal connections, where his team feels valued and supported. This trust enables Jason to help his employees not only professionally but also personally, guiding them through their challenges and celebrating their successes.

“I have grown personally through life so much in CBA,” Jason shares. “This brand has given so much to me and my family, and those in my charge deserve all the benefits that it has given me.”

How Servant Leadership Impacts the Lives of CBA Patrons

Jason and his team continuously prioritize being a light in their community through various ongoing initiatives as well as generally helping those who frequent the shop when they are able. One memorable story that comes to mind for Jason is that of a man who came to the shop looking for repairs for his van. This man, who had been to this CBA location before, is wheelchair-bound and has a specially-made van to assist him with driving.

He had had many issues with the van within a matter of months, and the repairs were taking a toll. Because of his condition, the van was the only way he could get around, and he needed his vehicle. This man’s mother was fighting cancer and depended on her son to drive her to doctor appointments.

Because of the high cost of the repairs, he had worked up a payment plan with Jason. But, with the help of Jason’s team and the Home Office, Jason was able to fix the van free of charge. When the man came to collect his renewed car and make his payment, Jason and the team surprised him saying he did not owe a cent.

“Everyone was in tears,” Jason said of the exchange. “His mom handwrote a note and we have it hung up in the shop … to remind us that we aren’t just here to fix cars.”

Jason and his team prioritize helping others in their community when they can, and this man’s story is just one of many examples of how Jason is guiding his team and community through servant leadership.

Guiding and Inspiring Others

Jason’s journey with CBA has been transformative. Initially guided and encouraged by others when he didn't believe in himself, he now pays it forward by mentoring his team. Jason is dedicated to finding and nurturing the potential in everyone, helping them achieve their personal and professional goals.

“I was guided and pushed when I didn't believe in myself but others did. I now do for my team what was once done for me: to find and steward the potential in each individual on my team to help them reach the desired results of what they want from life, personally and professionally,” Jason says.

Leading from the Bottom Up

Despite reaching the “top” of his shop, Jason continually reinserts himself at the bottom to help push his team forward. His leadership style is a testament to the core values of CBA, emphasizing that true leadership is about serving others and helping them succeed.

Jason Shiba’s story is a powerful example of how servant leadership can transform a business and the lives of those within it. At Christian Brothers Automotive, we are committed to fostering a culture where our Franchisees and their teams can thrive through support, trust and personal growth.
