THE 134TH CHRISTIAN BROTHERS AUTOMOTIVE FRANCHISE LOCATION OPENS IN CHARLOTTE SUBURB, MARKING AN ERA OF CONTINUED GROWTH.
The Herald Weekly of Huntersville, North Carolina, recently featured the area’s newest Christian Brothers Automotive franchise. Automotive franchise owner Colleen Manno’s location in the Charlotte suburb is the 134th Christian Brothers auto service shop.
For Colleen, a former marketing and sales representative for Nokia, getting into business for herself was more important than having prior experience in the automotive industry. She chose us because she had been a 10-year customer of a Christian Brothers Automotive franchise in her Texas hometown.
“I first learned about Christian Brothers by going there to get my car repaired,” Colleen says in a recent Q&A. “When Christian Brothers opened a store in the town where I lived — I was living in Texas at the time — I was so entranced with the way they ran their business and the way they treated their customers. I became a customer and ended up bringing my car there for over 10 years.”
FAITH-BASED APPROACH INSPIRED A LOYAL CUSTOMER TO OPEN HER OWN STORE
After being impressed with the faith-based approach to business that shattered any negative impressions Colleen had about the auto industry, she reached out to us and decided that she would work to open her own store.
“Christian Brothers did a lot of great research and provided me with demographic information and community information,” Colleen says. “I took a look at where I would like to live, and where I would feel comfortable being part of the community. There were numerous good opportunities in the Charlotte market.”
THE MARKET IS WIDE-OPEN, THE OPPORTUNITIES ARE ENORMOUS
There are numerous opportunities for a Christian Brothers automotive franchise owner who wants to enter the market. Colleen is but one part of our growth plan, which will find us opening 30 stores in six new states around the country. The home office team now consists of more than 50 superbly qualified team members who care for and support our franchise family.
And in the 30-plus years our company has been in business, not a single location has ever closed or failed — a testament to what “loving your neighbor as yourself” can really accomplish when applied to business. For Colleen, our continued success is a testament to how we do business, which she will continue for as long as she is a Christian Brothers automotive franchise owner.
“I wanted to look at a business that was successful not at the expense of customers but because they take care of customers,” Colleen says. “The idea that we can be a business committed to glorifying God is a big differentiator. It also makes a big difference in finding and hiring employees; we are looking for people who can support that mission.”
Christian Brothers is a highly rated, faith-based, automotive franchise with a unique financial model. Christian Brothers assumes a majority of the risk by purchasing and constructing “built-to-suit” buildings, which the franchisee then manages. Christian Brothers does not charge a franchisee based on top-line revenues like virtually every other franchisor, but instead on a share of the profits, which is calculated after expenses. Franchisees also pay themselves a salary before they pay the franchisor a nickel.
