Christian Brothers auto repair franchise has seen record expansion in 2014 and 2015, and that’s not all we have to celebrate. We cracked the the Top 20 in Franchise Gator’s distinguished Top 100 Franchises of 2015.

Franchise Gator, a website devoted to franchise industry research and news, named Christian Brothers as the No. 16 franchise opportunity in the nation, and we couldn’t be more proud. The goal of the annual list is to determine what franchise systems have proven their quality over time, and are therefore the franchise systems that are most likely to be successful. The list is based on variables such as financial stability, transparency, engagement, continuity, and sustainability.

One of the key facets Franchise Gator used in determining our ranking are the numbers we’ve reported in our 2015 Franchise Disclosure Document, which reveal a significant increase in average franchisee earnings.

Christian Brothers Automotive franchisees’ average in-store revenue increased more than 4% from 2013 to 2014. The rise in last year’s revenue is even more significant because it was calculated including 12 more stores than in 2013.

“We are extremely proud to not only be included on Franchise Gator’s Top 100 Franchises of 2015, but that we’ve ranked so highly is a testament to the way we do business,” says Josh Wall, Vice President of Franchise and Strategic Development with Christian Brothers. “The previous year was one of phenomenal growth for Christian Brothers.”

We plan to grow for years to come

The success of Christian Brothers auto repair franchise is the result of our faith-based business model; our customers return to us again and again because of our ethical business practices. By allowing our owners to live their faith in their business, we have not closed a single Christian Brothers store since we began franchising in 1996.

We celebrated 30 years in business and opened our 100th store in 2012. By 2013 we’d grown to more than 110 store locations in 12 states with more than 30 stores in development in six new states. Now, in 2015, we have 145 operating stores in 20 states with 20 more stores under development.

“We make it possible for good people to start a strong business in an industry that has had a troubled reputation,” says Mark Carr, CEO of Christian Brothers Automotive. “We create a better experience for customers.”

‘The nice difference’

Treating customers and employees with dignity and respect is evident in the services that Christian Brothers offers to its customers. Each store has a courtesy shuttle to help customers get to work — or anywhere else — and back while their cars are being repaired. They can also go to work knowing that they will not have to give up their weekends to having their cars fixed, because Christian Brothers is closed on Saturdays.

We close on Saturdays not only to give our employees a full weekend but because in doing so, we are able to attract the most talented mechanics, who enjoy knowing they’ll be able to spend the weekend with their families and friends.

“We have the opportunity, every single day, to make life a little better,” Mark says. “That extends to our employees as well as our customers.”

Christian Brothers is a highly rated, faith-based, auto repair franchise with a unique financial model. Christian Brothers assumes a majority of the risk by purchasing and constructing “built-to-suit” buildings, which the franchisee then manages. Christian Brothers does not charge a franchisee based on top-line revenues like virtually every other franchisor, but instead on a share of the profits, which is calculated after expenses. Franchisees also pay themselves a respectable salary before they pay the franchisor a nickel.
