THE FAITH-BASED AUTOMOTIVE FRANCHISE OPENS FIRST STORE IN THE BIGGEST CITY IN KANSAS AS IT GROWS AROUND THE COUNTRY
The Wichita Eagle, a daily newspaper serving the largest city in Kansas, recently broke the good news: Christian Brothers Automotive franchise has come to town.
Bob Morris, a former partner in an engineering firm, decided to switch gears and become an automotive franchise owner after having his own car serviced at the faith-based franchise.
“I’ve been very impressed with Christian Brothers,” Bob says in the article. “They’ve got an incredible business model. It’s just a great place to be a good businessman and show honesty and integrity.”
A LIGHT IN A TROUBLED INDUSTRY
Bob tells The Wichita Eagle that the automotive industry “hasn’t always had the best reputation.” Bob is right — in our “car culture,” stories of shady mechanics are common as cars. But Christian Brothers knows it’s important for people on the go to have faith in their mechanics, and we treat our customers and employees alike according to the Golden Rule.
Our respect for our customers’ time and dignity is evident in the services we Christian Brothers offers our customers. Each store has a courtesy shuttle to help customers get to work — or anywhere else — and back while their cars are being repaired. They also don’t have to give up their weekends to having their cars fixed, because at Christian Brothers, we get all the repair work done during the week.
“It’s upscale,” Bob says in the article. “It’s a very clean place where people can come and feel like they’re visiting a doctor’s office.”
WE ARE GROWING AT A RAPID PACE
While Bob is celebrating the opening of the first Christian Brothers Automotive franchise in Wichita, many more locations are in development around the country. In the same article, the paper reports that the Wichita area will be getting a second Christian Brothers location in the fall of 2015.
Christian Brothers has 135 locations, with 18 in development, and we’ve been growing like that for years. In 2013, Christian Brothers opened 16 new locations; in 2014, we opened 12 more. This growth is reflected in our sales numbers — they are climbing, too. In the first quarter of 2014, average same-store sales were markedly higher than sales of the same period a year earlier.
Christian Brothers is a highly rated, faith-based, automotive franchise with a unique financial model. Christian Brothers assumes a majority of the risk by purchasing and constructing “built-to-suit” buildings, which the franchisee then manages. Christian Brothers does not charge a franchisee based on top-line revenues like virtually every other franchisor, but instead on a share of the profits, which is calculated after expenses. Franchisees also pay themselves a salary before they pay the franchisor a nickel.
