Our mission to “love you’re your neighbor as yourself” is rooted in the communities that our shops serve.
As part of that mission, our franchise system gives back to those in need through National Service Day. The initiative originally began in Austin as a franchisee-led event to give free oil changes to underserved community members, and has since evolved into a system-wide holiday for the past 11 years.
Here is what we’ve learned after establishing National Service Day as a Christian Brothers Automotive initiative more than a decade ago:
SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY HELPS BUILD YOUR BUSINESS
Franchise businesses are unique from other company models because the individual local owners are all able to provide services to their customers under one common brand. As local residents serving their own communities, franchise owners are better equipped to make positive contributions to the neighbors and organizations around them.
As an entrepreneur of a successful business, you have a responsibility to support your local community whenever you can. After all, your company didn’t reach success without the help of your loyal customers. When you have the means to do it, goodwill gestures can make a world of a difference in aiding those around you who need it.
National franchise brands like Christian Brothers Automotive have the ability to make a huge impact on communities by collaborating and working together with franchise owners to bring much-needed resources to people in need. As a cornerstone of our brand, National Service Day brings attention to the greater good and how our organization can make a positive impact in our communities.
“We are so grateful for our local franchisees and their teams who are donating their time and participating in this event out of their desire to assist members of their communities who are in need,” said Donnie Carr, President of Christian Brothers Automotive. “We’re a people business first, and we take pride in our ability to serve local individuals. Not only is National Service Day events nationwide an excellent opportunity to take care of those in need, but it’s also a festive community gathering, amplifying our brands’ mission.”
This year, National Service Day fell on the heels of our ranking in the half of franchisors on Franchise Times’ Top 400 list, leading the automotive repair category. Moving up an impressive 31 spots from 2020, our esteemed placement at 170 is supported by a 12.6% increase in sales last year.
The recognition, along with the success of another National Service Day in the books, serves as a testament to our brand morals and a reminder that our dedication to the community does not go unrewarded.
