Although the automotive industry is traditionally a male-dominated field with women making up only about a quarter of the field, Christian Brothers Automotive is proud to have several female franchisees leading the charge on shifting the narrative. In fact, many of our female franchisees are building significant enterprises with Christian Brothers Automotive franchise investments. Nearly a quarter of our female franchisees are multi-unit shop owners and we hope to continue growing that number. In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re proud to highlight a few of our female franchisees who are paving the way for others in the field.
More than a decade ago, Jonita White looked into several different business ventures after the real estate market crashed and she knew that franchising was the route to take. When she researched Christian Brothers Automotive, Jonita discovered that our high franchisee satisfaction scores, strong franchisee support programs, guiding principles and the long-standing history of growing business success spoke to her entrepreneurial needs.
Today, a successful entrepreneur with Christian Brothers Automotive, Jonita has carved a name for herself since opening her first location in Frisco, Texas, in 2011, and we’re proud to say her shop is one of the best in our system. Plus, Jonita consistently provides advice and mentorship to other businesswomen, including many in our franchise system, hoping to achieve their goals.
“I’m finding more and more women are getting into the auto repair industry, and I want to tell them to never give up on their dream.”
Like Jonita, Amy Stehr, the Christian Brothers Automotive franchise owner of the Rockwall, Texas location, found an avenue to explore her desire to impact her community through Christian Brothers Automotive. Amy and her husband Mark, who runs the Forney, Texas location, enjoy creating a positive automotive repair experience for guests. Amy’s philosophy is to jump in and lead by example, and once she started running the Rockwall location, she couldn’t let it go. Her favorite part about becoming a Christian Brothers Automotive franchisee is interacting with the guests.
“I really like dealing with the people. It’s refreshing. I think a lot of people come into an auto repair shop and they’re scared to death. It feels great to be able to walk guests out to the shop and explain or show them what they need.”
Our female franchisees bring a unique perspective to automotive repair business ownership and we’re honored to have many successful women in our franchise system. Visit our franchising website to learn more about what it takes to become a Christian Brothers Automotive franchisee.
