Why Us

Why Franchise with Christian Brothers Automotive?

Striving to Be a Light in the Auto Service Industry

There's one word that comes up again and again whenever we poll our customers and ask for feedback on how we're doing with customer service: "Nice."

At all our franchise locations, the customers we serve consistently appreciate how "nice" their experience is at Christian Brothers Automotive. Yes, this includes their interactions with our friendly, knowledgeable staff and our Courtesy Inspections, but it also includes a lot of other things, too. Our brick building facilities are designed and built to be accommodating. We keep our lobby and waiting areas furnished and clean like one would expect at a respectable hotel—and that goes for our bathrooms, as well.

We offer complimentary beverages and free Wi-Fi. When our customers can't wait at our facilities, we also offer a free shuttle service to get them where they need to go so that their auto service doesn't completely derail the rest of their day. Christian Brothers Automotive also offers a generous warranty on all the work that we do, so customers can always feel confident about the integrity of their vehicle every time they drive away from one of our facilities.

We've come to call all of these practices the Christian Brothers Automotive "Nice difference.®" and it continues to resonate with both returning and new customers throughout our more than 218 different locations.

What Does a Christian Business Look Like?

Just as our name says, Christian Brothers Automotive is a Christian automotive repair franchise that applies Christian values to the way we approach business and customer service.

We let our actions be informed by the patience, the compassion, and the generosity our faith provides. Our experience is that customers, regardless of their faith or denomination, respond to this approach and appreciate the care and mindfulness that goes into every interaction.

"When dealing with customers, you look and see Jesus there and ask yourself what he would do in this situation," Houston Christian Brothers Automotive owner Chip Fenner says. "How would you treat your mom? You’d take care of her the right way. That kind of thinking is really what guides us, and we trust God for the results."

This approach doesn't just mean a lot to our customers, it benefits employees, as well. For instance, our free shuttle service for our customers means that they don't have to wait until the weekend to have their car serviced. This allows franchisees to close up shop on Saturdays and Sundays and allow employees to spend time with their families, worship, and pursue the other things that bring them fulfillment.

"When I was running my first store, when we used to be open on Saturdays, I saw divorces, people burned out. They’re working under these cars and it’s hard work, and I decided, I’m going to trust that I can shut it down on Saturdays for all the right reasons,” Founder and Retired CEO Mark Carr says. “I saw happier people, and I saw morale jump really high. Our business dropped a little bit for maybe a month, but it came right back again. We look at ourselves a little like Chick-fil-A. You see how busy they are and how courteous they are, and the food is awesome. You know they could get a ton of business on a Sunday, but they trust that their customers will come back on Monday."
