As a prospective Christian Brothers Automotive franchisee, you might wonder if you have enough experience to run a business. Unlike other opportunities, we see great value in prospective franchisees who have never worked in the automotive field before. You don’t have to be passionate about cars or understand how they work to consider our investment!
We’ve built a successful brand around owners who have little or no experience in the field. In fact, 85% of Christian Brothers Automotive franchisees had no prior automotive experience when they opened their location. Instead, we look to life experience and for our core values to align. We’re invested in our franchise owners and provide exemplary auto repair franchisee training to transform them into auto repair franchise champions.
Prior to opening your new Christian Brothers Automotive location, you’ll take part in our new franchisee training. Our comprehensive training program is designed to fill in the missing pieces from your experience and set you up for success.
The training staff comprises Home Office-based team members and existing and established Christian Brothers Automotive franchisees as part of our Certified Training Locations (CTL) and Certified Field Trainer (CFT) programs. Our Certified Training Locations are franchisee-owned and operated and will serve to provide you with an example of what the implementation of CBA best practices into your business can look like. Our Certified Field Trainers are franchisees that are well-versed in CBA culture and systems, and under their leadership you’ll see first-hand how a successful franchise location operates.
New franchisees will complete 120 hours of online training at their own pace, at their own home/place of choice. This pre-training is designed to prepare you for in-office and hands-on training, and includes areas like: leadership and business management, guest communication and point-of-sale software, guest satisfaction and service, sales, automotive systems, recordkeeping and human resources, and marketing .
New franchisees will complete two weeks of training at our offices in Houston, Texas prior to opening or acquiring their location. This training expands on the pre-training topics and is led by our in-house training staff.
New franchisees will complete a total of six weeks of training at a Certified Training Location and under the guidance of a Certified Field Trainer. This training experience breaks down as follows: four weeks at a Certified Training Location and then two more weeks at a different location owned and operated by a Certified Field Trainer. Your CTL time will give you hands-on knowledge of how our locations operate on a daily basis from a team member’s perspective, and your CFT time will give you hands-on knowledge from an owner’s perspective. In addition, your CFT will visit your location for an entire week shortly after you open to help you implement all that you’ve learned.
Additionally, the Christian Brothers Automotive training and support staff will provide ongoing support in all areas of the business during your entire time as a franchisee. You will also have access to instructional materials that include our Confidential Operations Manual, Playbook, online training, and educational platform, plus much more.
